Sandy Toes Here I Come!

Sandy Toes Here I Come!

I can't believe it's summer already. I am sooooo ready for it. I have a lot of plans this summer to revamp and refocus my business. (Of course there will lots of be sunshine and sandy toes too...) There is always so much going on with life in general and I never seem to find the time to blog or post or pin or tweet as much as I would like to. Hopefully this summer I can organize all that is "social media" in my world and streamline a system for myself that is easy to follow and keep up with. Maybe its
as simple as scheduling, like blogging on Mondays, pinning on Wednesdays, Tweeting
on Fridays etc....

My big task this summer will be redoing my website. I created it in iWeb, but I now have to do it over from scratch since Apple is doing away with the program, shame on you Apple! I also want to look into finally opening a shop in Zazzle. And on top of that I went back to my graphic design roots and took on a nice freelance design job for the summer. My summer is going to be very busy!

And then there is finding time to just "play" not just creatively, but perusing the websites, blogs and pinterest boards of fellow TAG members. I love them all... I start and before you know it 2 or more hours have gone by! Everything is so awesome and inspiring. And as if I didn't need another "toy" or distraction, I discovered Instagram and a ton of fun photo apps for my iPhone! There just isn't enough time.

And with that said I should have posted this two weeks ago! I recently gifted Nicole Richie through The Artisan Group. Here is a picture of what I sent her, a glass pendant, some notecards, a hamsa t-shirt and of course my hand watercolored note that I have been doing for all the celebrity gifts. I love doing these gifts. It's a really nice way to get your products directly into the hands of a specific celebrity. I also just booked my spot to have my business cards in The Artisan Group's swag bag again. LOVE TAG!

Well that's all for now... I have a lot of planning to do!

Who doesn't love Giada De Laurentiis?

Who doesn't love Giada De Laurentiis?

For those of you who don't know, Giada De Laurentiis is an Italian American chef, writer and TV personality. She is the host of Food Network's "Giada at Home" and appears regularly on the Today Show as a co-host and contributor. She also has a line of cooking supplies sold exclusively at Target. And... her husband Todd Thompson is a fashion designer for Anthropologie, only one of my most favorite stores in the whole world!

Last month, I wasn't able to attend her local book signing at Williams Sonoma in The Mall at Short Hills, but I was able to order an autographed copy of her new cookbook "Weeknights with Giada" from her website. It just arrived a few days ago and I can't wait to try some of her recipes!

Through my association with The Artisan Group, I was again given the opportunity to gift a celebrity... GIADA! I literally mailed my gift out yesterday. I sent her one of my t-shirts, a pendant, a few notecards and a bottle cap "J" charm for her daughter Jade Marie. And of course I hand watercolored a personalized note as I did for Tori Spelling and Zooey Deschanel!

The way it works is we put our names into lotteries as opportunities come up for gifting celebrities. There are so many members in The Artisan Group now, it's a really fair way to give everyone a chance. I have been lucky enough to have done three so far.

          'Till next time...TAG Rocks!

Celebrity Gifting Continues...

Celebrity Gifting Continues...

The celebrity gifting group I belong to, The Artisan Group, just celebrated their one year anniversary on March 7th... happy birthday TAG! April 12th will mark my one year anniversary with them. TAG has been a great source of inspiration and support for me over the last year, I love being a member. When I joined there were maybe 50 members or so and now there are over 800!

Participating in the Emmy Awards with them was a great experience. Since then, I have had my business cards in their swag bags for the Golden Globes, the Oscars and will have them at the upcoming MTV Movie Awards. I have had the opportunity to gift Zooey Deschanel and my latest is Tori Spelling! I literally just mailed out the gift today. Here is what I sent for Tori and her family... a set of notecards, a magnet trio with her children's initials and one of my "new" style pendants. I also hand watercolored a quick note just as I did for Zooey Deschanel.

All in all, if you are a artist or craftsperson out there, or you know one... check out TAG. It's a wonderful community of artisans!
